Oasis: it literally means a green spot in the desert but is also used to describe a peaceful area in your everyday lives. After spending a few days in Bangkok, visiting the temples, walking around in China Town, shopping, business meetings and drinking cocktails on rooftops I found my oasis.
Oasis Spa Bangkok is the place to relax and indulge without leaving downtown. Tucked away on Soi Swaddee on Sukhumvit 31, beautiful trees replace the city’s skyscrapers. The minute I set foot in the serene garden of Oasis spa filled with tropical plants, flowers and a large pond with lilies I feel like I am in a different place. Four beautiful women in traditional Thai dresses stand in front of the colonial style building. We are welcomed with a refreshing herbal drink and cooling towels. The fragrance of herbal oils and the relaxed music playing in the background make me feel immediately zen. We receive a form to fill in our specific needs and the way we like to be treated. Guided by our masseuses we follow the pathway to our private treatment villa to experience the ”King of Oasis” treatment. The treatment starts with a Thai hot compress. It is followed by a hot oil full body massage using coconut oil based products and traditional Thai herbs. It’s heaven. By the end of the massage we get a sandalwood and pomegranate face mask based on our skin conditions. My body and skin feel totally renewed and super soft. I realize that sometimes you just need to treat yourself once in a while and I am happy to hear that Oasis has another branch in Chiang Mai, our next spot!
Oasis Spa Lanna
Oasis Spa Lanna is situated within the walls of old town Chiang Mai. Here we experience a unique treatment inspired by the Thai Mango Sticky Rice. Coconut and mango are our favorite fruits so we couldn’t be more excited. We start with a body scrub made of natural shea butter, coconut butter, mango and organic rice followed by a coconut body wrap and a soothing facial massage. The treatment ends with a coconut oil massage. One thing is for sure by the end you feel delighted and smell delicious!
The oasis Spa opened in 2003 by Toby Allen and Pakin Ployphicha, both avid spa goers who created the ”spa of their dreams” they never found elsewhere in the world. They opened the first Oasis spa in their hometown Chiang Mai located in the Nimmanhemin Road and soon opened eight more branches in Thailand. If you are looking for the real spa feeling in Thailand, Oasis is your best choice set in peaceful surroundings, treatments created by ancient and new Thai techniques and always the absolute best service.
