Berlin is one of the most multicultural and creative cities in Europe I never get bored of. It’s the city’s combo of culture, cutting-edge architecture, art, fabulous vegan food, intense parties, cool bars, concept cafes, cheap but quality eateries and experimental fine dining that keeps me coming back. Every neighborhood has its own buzzing center. We sorted out our favorite hotspots divided in Berlin’s most popular areas.

Volt

This industrial chic restaurant is housed in a former electricity substation built in 1928. The restaurant is stylish decorated and in spite of the industrial building, Volt has a warm feel. The restaurant has a German kitchen, the chef uses a mix of international ingredients and vegetables sourced from local farmers. The food is experimental and artistically presented. On the five-course menu is something for everyone. There is a vegetarian menu as well as more daring options like a mackerel baked with dates, pine nuts and soy sauce on a grilled slice of watermelon and a fennel salad. All menus come with an excellent choice of pairing wines. The great food, charming location along side a canal combined with a smooth, friendly and excellent service make Volt a popular spot for dining!

Everyday is Sunday

Sunday is a day to relax, to sit down all day long in a cozy café, with a group of friends over a cup of coffee and a selection of delicious treats. Days like these are the reason why Everyday is Sunday opened its doors and I couldn’t agree more. This lovely place has an esthetic interior with brick walls, creative deco and a terrace where you can hang out all day. The Korean/Vietnamese friendly owner put all his favorite Asian dishes on the menu and bakes his sweet cakes in his own bakery.

Cecconi’s

Situated on the ground floor of the Soho House Building next to The Store, this modern classic Italian restaurant is serving hand-made pasta, seafood and classical dishes from Northern Italy. The Art Deco inspired fancy interior impresses me: red leather seating’s, a stunning black and white marble floor, dark wood and shiny brass. The combination of good food prepared by the chefs in the open kitchen, the cool yet elegant surroundings, and friendly staff make Cecconi’s definitely a spot that is worth a visit!
